Laser Marking

Permanent laser marking for part numbers, serialization, revision IDs, traceability marks and clean identification on precision machined components.

Overview

Traceability that stays with the part.

Laser marking gives machined components a clean, durable way to carry identification without labels or secondary handling headaches. Best Machine Inc. marks part numbers, serial numbers, revision IDs, orientation marks and customer-specific traceability data.

Because marking is handled in-house, it can be planned alongside machining, inspection and packaging. That helps keep serialized production organized and reduces the risk of outside vendor delays late in the job.

We support both CO2 and ytterbium vanadate laser marking equipment, with rotary indexing available for cylindrical components.

Why Best Machine Inc.

Marking and machining under one roof, since 2004.

Because laser marking happens in-house alongside milling, turning and inspection, serialized and traceable parts move through one controlled process instead of an outside vendor queue. Best Machine Inc. is ISO 9001:2015 certified, holds a DLA CAGE code and is ITAR-aware, which matters when marking requirements are tied to instrumentation or medical traceability standards.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What can be laser marked on machined parts?

We mark part numbers, serial numbers, revision IDs, logos, orientation marks and lot or traceability codes directly onto machined components.

Does laser marking affect part dimensions or strength?

No. Laser marking is a surface process that does not require secondary finishing and adds no meaningful dimensional change to the part.

What materials can be laser marked?

We laser mark stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, coated parts, plastics and other industrial components as part of the standard finishing process.

Can you mark curved or cylindrical parts?

Yes. Our Raptor II system includes a rotary indexer specifically for marking cylindrical and curved components accurately.

Do you support serialization for instrumentation or medical traceability requirements?

Yes. We regularly mark serialized, traceable parts for instrumentation, sensor and medical-device customers who need documented lot and traceability data.
